Ringer Responsibility was distributed and discovered to be outdated. A new version will be brought to our first rehearsal. All members are required to sign this contract and pay a $50 membership fee by November 1 (write check to Bells of the Lakes and give to Nathan, our new treasurer).

Jennifer presented a treasurer report.  As to be expected, we follow the economy and trended worse than average this year.  We need new ideas to make sure we have enough money to pay for Bill (Director) and Jan (Manager).  BellFest is our biggest fundraiser, but fell short of our typical profit margin making $3000 this year, $5000 last year and $6500 two years ago.

Jan is working on filling our concert schedule. All events will be posted online at our Calendar page.  If anyone has any suggestions for concert venues, please email Jan.

The positions of officers, chairs, and committees were given short descriptions and nominations were held.  See Elected Positions

The Youth Handbell Ensemble, Northern Lights Ringers is having auditions this weekend. They have a concert scheduled in October.

The redesigned Website was demonstrated and all members should be able to log in to the members page to get information and post comments/concerns.

Jan showed a picture of a suggested new wardrobe for the women.  All were in favor. Jan will collect measurements and order dresses.  Bells of the Lakes will own and manage the wardrobe.

Bill discussed plans for the year, including a Chorister’s Guild recording session in November, and the holiday show with the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus.  We are also celebrating our 15 year anniversary and HAUMC will host us for a concert in March.  Bill passed out rehearsal agendas and concert repertoire lists that will be posted on our website.  There are some exciting events coming our way next summer and Bells of the Lakes will be an important piece of coordinating it, Bill and Carolynne are the nominated liaisons for planning the event that will be held at the Minneapolis Hilton.  Bill also wanted to let us know that there will be a festival in Liverpool England in 2012, if we want to go, we need to start thinking about fundraising.
