Kevin Shull
Kevin has been ringing handbells since 1974 and directing handbells since 1984. He began ringing with the Bells of the Lakes in 2002. Kevin is a past member of the Dallas Handbell Ensemble and produced their 1996 CD recording, Textures. As an instructor, handbell consultant, and teacher of handbell maintenance and repair, he has participated in numerous handbell workshops, symposiums, clinics and festivals around the world. Kevin holds music degrees from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Forth Worth, Texas and is currently Director of Handbell Ensembles at Bethel University, St. Paul, Minnesota and the instructor of Learning & Making Music with Handbells & Handchimes at Grace Homeschool Academy in Richfield, Minnesota. He also runs The Handbell Workshoppe, "a quality handbell maintenance and repair service for all makes of handbells." Kevin and his wife, Sara (whom he met in a bell choir), live in the country southeast of Cambridge, Minnesota and have six lovely and energetic children. When Kevin is not playing, repairing, or teaching handbells he enjoys playing trumpet, recorder and many sports. His hobbies include biking, woodworking, fixing things and spending time with his family.
