Bells of the Lakes Members
Gail Onan
Gail has been ringing handbells since 1982. She rang with Hennepin Chime of Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church for 6 years, beginning with treble bells and then four-in-hand and she was hooked! She joined Bells of the Lakes in 1997. Gail planned to be a piano and voice major at the University of Minnesota, but instead chose a career in investments. She has recently retired from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans after 25 years of serving in the Investment Department as a mutual fund portfolio manager in the Fixed Income Division. Gail and her husband have been married for 36 years and enjoy five offspring and three very rapidly growing grandbabies. Her husband’s family originally summered in Door County, WI, where they now spend as much time as possible. She is an active volunteer in her church’s second hand store, Steeple People. Gail enjoys cooking, playing the piano, and spending time reading on their deck overlooking their lovely gardens. She continues to read the Wall Street Journal every day and loves to plot interest rate strategy for “imaginary” fixed income portfolios.
